Part 1 Download and Install
The Microsoft Anti-Spyware spyware scanning engine scans your entire computer using a regularly updated database of over fifty thousand known spyware signatures. Due to the ever changing environment, spyware signatures are updated consistently through SpyNet to provide you with ongoing, accurate protection. Spyware scanning is used on a manual basis (on-demand scanning) as well as a scheduled basis using the spyware scheduler to perform full system sweeps to locate and remove unwanted spyware threats. Spyware scans perform in-depth scans of your computer's hard drives, memory, process, registry and cookies to seek out and remove any and all known spyware threats.
With real-time protection from Security Agents, Microsoft Anti-Spyware protects your computer, privacy, and personal information from hidden threats before they can run, stopping most spyware threats before they have the chance to be installed. Internet, System, and Application Agents monitor over 50 security checkpoints to verifying any unknown activity with the global SpyNet community.

Click "Next" to continue with the setup.
This part of the installation provides an option to configure automatic definitions/rules update. Click the radio button "Yes, automatically keep Microsoft AntiSpyware updated (recommended)" and then click "Next"
The next part in the setup process provides an option to activate the real time scanning engine of Microsoft AntiSpyware. Microsoft AntiSpyware comes installed with many real-time active security agents.
With real-time protection activated, many spyware applications can be intercepted and disabled before they can be installed, helping to stop potential security leaks before the spyware has the ability to run. When software is installed or a change is made to your protected computer, internet, or application settings, System Agents react to analyze the change, and either allow the change if it is known to be safe, block the change if it is known spyware, or prompt you for additional action.
When a Microsoft Security Agent prompts you for action, an alert window appears in the bottom right corner of your screen, which includes information concerning the change allowing you to make an informed decision about whether or not to allow the action to complete.
Select the option "Yes help keep me secure (recommended)" and then click "Next"
Note: Do not enable this option now if you are sure that you have Malware in the system and you are in the middle of cleaning your system as real time protection monitors like this and Spybot S & D's Teatimer are likely to interfere with the removal process.
The next step provides an option to join the SpyNet community. SpyNet is a voluntary worldwide online community of MS AntiSpyware that helps catalog and identify the types of programs, users intall on their PCs. Any user can join SpyNet and report about suspicious actions it detects.
Select the option "Yes. I want to help fight spyware(recommended)" and then click "Finish".
In the final step, Click "Run scan later", which will open the system summary screen.
